Is Ma:nyo pregnancy-safe? For the two products we stock — the Pure Cleansing Oil and the Pure & Deep Cleansing Foam — the answer is a comfortable yes: both are rinse-off cleansers with no retinoids, no high-dose salicylic acid and nothing from the pregnancy avoid list. Cleansers are generally the lowest-risk category in skincare anyway, because they are on your skin for seconds, not hours.

Why cleansers barely raise pregnancy questions
Leave-on products sit against your skin all day, which is why serums and creams get all the scrutiny. A cleanser touches your face for thirty seconds and washes off — so even ingredient-cautious dermatologists relax about this category. The exception would be a cleanser built on strong salicylic acid, which is why we cover that separately in our salicylic acid guide. Neither Ma:nyo product goes near it.

The real reason your cleanser matters right now
Here is the part most brands skip: during pregnancy and postpartum, your skin barrier is often running at half strength — which is why products that never bothered you suddenly sting (we wrote about exactly why that happens). A harsh, squeaky-clean cleanser is the fastest way to make a fragile barrier worse, twice a day, every day. The Ma:nyo foam is in nearly every routine we build because it takes the day off without that stripped, tight feeling — and the cleansing oil melts sunscreen and makeup first on heavier days. The double-cleanse method itself is covered in our double cleansing 101.

Questions mums ask
Is a cleansing oil okay with pregnancy-sensitive skin? Usually it is the gentler choice — oils dissolve sunscreen without the scrubbing. If your skin is very reactive right now, massage lightly and rinse with lukewarm, not hot, water.
Do I need to double cleanse every day? No — the oil step is for days you wore SPF or makeup (which, in Australia, should be most days for SPF). On bare-faced days the foam alone is enough.
Fragrance? The Ma:nyo pair is low-fragrance and well tolerated, but as with anything in a reactive season, patch test if your skin has been flaring.
The ready-made route
The Ma:nyo foam opens the Pregnancy-Safe Routine — the fully vetted box where it is followed by heartleaf calm, a PDRN treatment and a barrier seal. If you are past the pregnancy-vetting season and just want the full glow method, the 5-Step Glass-Skin Routine starts with the very same foam. Or browse the pregnancy-safe edit.
