Here is a number I think about a lot: the average skincare influencer routine has ten steps and takes twenty five minutes. The average mum of a baby has, on a good day, the four minutes between the shower and the first cry. I know which number my life runs on.

The good news: your skin does not actually need the twenty five minutes. It needs four things done consistently, and consistency is so much easier when the whole routine fits inside the time the kettle takes. I tested more than 200 K-beauty products in the years after my first was born, and what follows is the distilled version, the routine I actually kept doing on no sleep.
The four steps
Minute 1: Cleanse. A gentle low-pH foam like the Ma:nyo Pure & Deep. It takes off the day, the sunscreen and the toddler fingerprints without stripping, so your skin never gets that tight squeak that starts the whole dryness spiral. If you wore makeup or SPF, an oil cleanse first makes it a proper double cleanse, but on a rough night the foam alone is enough.
Minute 2: Tone. Not the harsh astringent kind from the 90s. A hydrating, calming toner like the Anua Heartleaf 77%, patted on with your hands. It calms redness and leaves skin damp, which matters more than people realise: damp skin absorbs whatever comes next far better than dry skin does.
Minute 3: The hero serum. This is where the results live. One serum, chosen for your actual concern, pressed into skin while it is still damp. For most tired, dehydrated post-baby skin, that is the Anua PDRN Capsule 100, our little blue-bottle hero: deep hydration and visible plump. For dark patches, swap in the Dark Spot Serum instead.

Minute 4: Seal. A barrier cream over the top so everything you just applied stays in your skin instead of evaporating into the nursery air. The Dr. Althea 345 is my desert island pick, built on three ceramides, four peptides and five panthenols. In the morning, SPF goes on last, always.
The weekly boost
Two nights a week, when the house finally goes quiet, add a Biodance collagen mask before bed and sleep in it. You wake up visibly plumper. It is the single highest return on ten seconds of effort in all of skincare, and honestly the closest thing to a full night's sleep that comes in a packet.

What to skip when you are this tired
Just as useful as what to do is what to let go of. You do not need essences, ampoules, seven-skin methods, jade rollers or anything with more than one instruction paragraph right now. They are lovely and entirely optional. Four steps, kept, will always beat ten steps you resent.
Why four minutes beats twenty five
Because you will actually do it. Skin rewards the routine you keep, not the routine you aspire to. Four honest minutes most nights beats a perfect Sunday routine you manage twice a month, every single time. Everything here is pregnancy and breastfeeding safe, too, so it carries you right through.
If you want the whole thing in one box, chosen and sequenced for you, that is exactly what The 4-Minute Ritual is: five full sizes, the complete routine, zero research required.
Four minutes. That part of the day is yours.
